Excursion to the Diamond Fund of the Moscow Kremlin
The Diamond Fund of the Moscow Kremlin opened in 1967. The collection of the Diamond Fund was founded under Peter I. The collection of the Fund includes masterpieces of jewelry of the XVIII-XX centuries, as well as nuggets and precious stones of historical and artistic value. During the tour you will see unique treasures, exciting works of Russian jewelry masters. Among the most famous exhibits are imperial symbols of power, the main ones being the Crown, Power and scepter. During the excursion, the excursionists will get acquainted with the history of the imperial treasury of the reign of Peter the Great and trace its development to the creation of the Diamond Fund of the USSR. Tourists will hear a detailed account of diamond mining sites in Russia, the largest of which are presented in the windows of the Foundation. Several shop windows are dedicated to artful decorations made back in Imperial Russia. The collection of the Fund presents unique exhibits that are wonderfully intertwined with the fate of famous historical figures, remarkable corners of old Moscow, its architectural monuments.
